Timothy Meunier, a native of New Jersey, is a 1978 graduate of Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey, with a degree in Music Education. Mr. Meunier is in his 42nd year as Director of Music Ministries at the First United Methodist Church of Jackson, Michigan.

As a student at Westminster Choir College, he has had many opportunities to sing at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New Your City.  He was thrilled to return to Carnegie Hall in 2009, this time with his Chancel Choir to participate in a concert celebrating the 70th anniversary of Shawnee Press.  The Chancel Choir returned to NY in 2011 to sing in Lincoln Center and then again to Carnegie Hall in 2018 when the Chancel Choir sung for the world premier of Mary McDonald’s “This is the Dream.” Under Mr. Meunier’s leadership the Chancel Choir has sung at a number of churches throughout lower Michigan, as well as appearing as guest choir with the Jackson Symphony Orchestra in a number of performances including Mahler’s “Resurrection Symphony” and Puccini’s “Tosca.” The Chancel Choir has recorded several CDs which include such works as, “Te Deum” and “Swingin’ With the Saints” by Mark Hayes and “The Awakening” by Joseph Martin. While the Chancel Choir is the backbone of a strong music ministry at First United Methodist Church, Mr. Meunier also directs the Fellowship Choir (a second adult choir) which, combined with the Chancel Choir presents a choir of approximately 75 singers. He also directs  handbell and handchime ensembles, a brass ensemble and a women’s vocal ensemble, each presenting music for worship and concerts throughout the year.  Mr. Meunier oversees a staff of four organists/pianists and the Director of Children’s Music.
