Their Love Still Lingers
There’s something sacred about the way love endures — how it reaches beyond time, distance, and even death. As All Saints Day approaches, we find ourselves remembering those who shaped our faith and our hearts — the saints who taught us what it means to live like Jesus in everyday, ordinary moments.
Maybe it was a grandmother who whispered prayers over you when you were too young to understand them. Maybe it was a Sunday School teacher who showed up every week with goldfish crackers, patience, and the reminder that you mattered. Or maybe it was a friend whose faith stayed steady when yours felt fragile. Whoever they were, their love didn’t stop when they left — it lingers.
Their voices echo in our prayers. Their kindness shows up in the way we care for others. Their faith quietly fuels ours when we’re not sure we can take another step. These are the saints — not perfect people, but faithful ones — who carried light into our lives and helped us see the heart of God a little more clearly.
All Saints Day invites us to pause and give thanks for that lingering love. It’s a time to name those who’ve gone before us and to celebrate the truth that we are part of something much bigger — a great cloud of witnesses cheering us on as we continue the journey of faith.
As we gather this Sunday, may we remember:
Their prayers still cover us.
Their lessons still guide us.
Their love still lingers.
And as it does, may we be inspired to carry that same kind of love forward — steady, faithful, and full of grace.
“Since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses… let us run with perseverance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus.” — Hebrews 12:1-2
