Pastor’s New Year Letter
Jacksonfirstumc

As we begin a new year, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to walk this season together.

Winter has a way of slowing us down. The days are quieter. The cold lingers. And for many, this time of year carries weight—fatigue, grief, or simply the weariness of long nights and short days. Yet it is often in seasons like this that community matters most.

The church has always been more than a building or a weekly gathering. It is a people who notice one another. Who show up. Who carry hope for each other when it feels hard to hold on alone. I am grateful to serve a congregation that lives this out in both visible and unseen ways—through presence, prayer, kindness, and care.

As we step into this new year, my prayer is not that everything feels new or easy, but that we continue to choose faithfulness together. That we remain attentive to who may need encouragement, connection, or simply someone to walk alongside them. God is already present in the days ahead, and we move forward trusting that we are never asked to do so alone.

Thank you for being a community that shows up—for one another and for the work God is doing among us.
