Greg was raised in a Christian home by parents who enjoyed sharing their gifts with the congregation. His faith in Christ grew as he participated with the Wesley Foundation at Western Michigan University while completing his undergraduate degree in Hydrogeology. This ultimately led to working part-time at Milwood UMC in Kalamazoo and attending Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary to pursue an MA in Christian Education. After graduation, Greg served at Marshall UMC as the Director of Discipleship Ministries and led mission trips to Haiti, Lithuania and Latvia while also coordinating the Conference’s Youth Worker Movement. He then served as Youth Minister at Grand Ledge First UMC and as a restorative justice practitioner in Lansing-area schools. While at Grand Ledge he was ordained a Deacon in Full Connection and became the dean of the young adult annual retreat known as Big Kids Camp. After an interim stint in campus ministry at Michigan State University, Greg went to serve as the Director of the Wesley Fellowship at Grand Valley State University (GVSU). While at GVSU, he was invited to co-lead three separate Mission Discovery Young Adult Journeys to Africa University in Zimbabwe. When six years had passed, an opportunity to work in Lithuania arose. Consequently, he became the Associate Dean of Students at LCC International University until returning to Michigan at the end of 2018. Upon returning, he found work at River Valley Middle High School in Three Oaks, MI as a Teaching Assistant and In-School Suspension Supervisor and is happy to be returning to parish ministry at Jackson First UMC.
