All Ages Activites
Family Life
Family Life Ministry is an educational program designed to enable participants to grow healthy, happy relationships with one another by following the teachings and example of Jesus Christ. It is the goal of this ministry to provide individuals, families, and the entire church family with resources they need to thrive.
Opportunities in Family Life Ministry include worship, educational classes, service projects, and social events. Equipped with an understanding of membership in the family of Christ, people of all ages may make contributions to the family life of First United Methodist Church. We work together, play together, pray and learn together!

Family Camp
Lake Michigan Camp and Retreat Center is located south of Pentwater on Lake Michigan. FUMC uses this camp in early August for this wonderful experience. It is a beautiful setting for learning, relaxing, sharing and being with family and friends of FUMC. The camp runs from Sunday afternoon to Saturday morning, but you may choose a shorter duration to meet your schedule.
Platform tents are available, as are cabins and camp sites for your own camping equipment. Picnic tables, electricity, water, campfire and bathroom facilities are at each campsite or nearby. A beautiful beach with volleyball, softball, tetherball, bicycles, kayaks, hiking trails, and other local attractions comprise the daytime activities. Evening gatherings include learning, singing, dance, capture the flag, a great race, or watching a movie.

wELLNESS TEAM
"The mission of the Wellness Team is to encourage, educate, equip members and the community to build and sustain healing ministries, and promote health in mind, body and spirit."
Some of the ways we currently do this are through our Fresh Food Initiative on the 2nd Monday of each month and by packing food bags for students at area schools.

Faith WaLk
Faith Walk happens on Wednesday mornings at 9:00am. During the warmer months, we walk through neighborhoods and parks. In the colder months, we meet at the Jackson Crossing Mall. Contact the church office to get on the notification list.
Conversations about Faith
The Conversations about Faith, led by Jim VanSlette, is on Sundays at 9:15AM onsite in our Parlor. Typically, they read books by N.T. Wright, C.S. Lewis, Peter Enns, James K. A. Smith, Rachel Held Evans, Parker Palmer, Bryan Stephenson, and many others for discussion. Although a book study, participants are invited to share their own journeys in the conversation.
Tuesday Morning bible study
Our Tuesday morning Bible study is led by Nancy Macaluso and is at 10:00AM onsite in our Chapel. A Study Bible would be really helpful to use as daily readings are part of the class. wednesday morning bible study
Our Wednesday morning Bible study is led by Joanne Snell and is at 10:00AM onsite in our Chapel. A Study Bible would be really helpful to use as daily readings are part of the class. Lessons are from the United Methodist quarterly study book and provide background information designed to better understand the Bible and how it applies to today's living. Each quarter emphasizes a specific theme. Materials are provided and there is no outside preparation required.
